Sad to report that the boys did not shoot any turkey yesterday. They claim that they did hear about 5 or 6 gobblers but none were close enough and visible through the dense woods. They did shoot a 6 foot long black snake. My husband fired about 5 shots all over the snake’s body and handed the shot gun to my son to finish it off as the snakes continues to slither through the woods. My son missed on his first shot and continued to shoot for a second time which hit the snake’s body. Finally, he capped it off with a shot on the head that separated from its body. In fear of more snakes, the boys decided to head out of the woods.
My daughter is spending the weekend with my mother-in-law. I wouldn’t be surprised if they got their nails done – a usual affair when she visits grandma. My mother-in-law raised two boys. Consequently, my daughter gets to enjoy the spoils that my mother-in-law did not have an opportunity to dispense to her boys. My daughter is a girly-girl. She enjoys her mani-pedi and shopping. I can’t even remember the last time I painted my nails nor my last visit to a nail salon. Oh yeah I just remembered! It was 3 years ago, for AJ’s wedding (my husband’s cousin). Whew! I need some pampering.
Well, I am home alone this weekend trying to finish my final homework for one of my classes, along with 3 papers and one final exam. It’s going to be a very long upcoming week but thank goodness this semester will be over. I am looking forward to spending time with the kids and husband, and enjoying the summer. Huh, maybe I should get a mani-pedi in time for mother’s day?
